Snappy Happy Photo Challenge-Week 1

A new weekly photo challenge from JX at WeLiveinaFlat and Meghan at Firebonnet.com

For the next twelve weeks, a new challenge will be posted which includes the opportunity to try out apps on smart phones. Click  here for the particulars.

This week’s challenge was bokeh-which I have played around with some, but have not really found any apps that I particularly like-they either distort the image, hide it, or make it difficult to move the effect around. The apps I have tried (including Lumie and InstaBokeh Fx) also crunch pixels BIG time-

The original photo I worked with is one that has been featured here in an earlier post:

So here is Plain Jack and Bokeh Jack (courtesy of Lumie and Real Bokeh-other apps used include Photo Toaster, Pic-Tap-Go and Snapseed):

And of course-Today’s Dog Quote:

If a dog will not come to you after having looked you in the face, you should go home and examine your conscience.

  1. Despite the challenges with the apps, the photos turned out pretty well 🙂 I like the one with the round bokeh best but thought the photo with the paw-shaped bokeh will look better in your challenge photo grid 😛 Repix actually outputs quite a large size image, which didn’t work out so great if I had process it in another app that outputs smaller.- – Thank for taking the time to join! And the dog quote! 😀

  7. I think I like the paw-shaped bokeh; don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. And I really do love the dog quote, too. Sweet photo. You could superimpose that lovely quote in the space on the top-right of that photo, to double the sweet effect!
