The Secret Door

I imagine the conversation something like this:

“No! Don’t go in there Little Bear! If SHE catches us, we will be in BIG trouble!”

But you know Hubble is as curious as Little Bear to see what is behind the door.

Actually it is the door to the studio and I do try to keep them out–there is too much stuff to get into as I am in the process of repainting and reorganizing.

The picture today was a bit difficult. I had to take it in the morning and Hubble was fussy. Usually I like for him to run around for awhile-it just makes it easier for all of us then when we are trying to take a picture or two or three . . . but you work with what you have.

Thorns may hurt you, men desert you, sunlight turn to fog;
but you’re never friendless ever, if you have a dog.

For today: The Secret Door

And-a BIG thank you to the many people who stopped by Little Dogs Laughed as a result of the Word Press Discover feature. We are very appreciative of the interest and I am slowly making my way through the comments as well as visits to the many different WP sites. Thank you all!

  1. …and then…they all laughed as they saw exactly what they were looking for!
There’s a book about dogs that I know you’d like; I have to hunt up the details and get back to you.
PS: What is the Discover thingy?

  2. Also found you via Discover option. Lovely pics. That pic says a thousand words. I’ve always felt that it’s not always necessary to use expensive lense cameras. Glad such beauty can be captured with a cellphone camera.

    • I really appreciate you taking the time to do so. And I agree, about the camera. I was told a long time ago, that a good photographer can work with any kind of camera and create something memorable. So I strive for that and just trying to have memorable moments with furry crew here-Thank you again!

    • Thank you Roberta very much–they are special dogs to be sure and they have come a long, long way from their first days here. And I am thrilled that people enjoy visiting to what they are up to-Appreciate you taking the time to visit and to comment-

  3. In my experience, dogs hate closed doors – or, that they enjoy opening them! 😮
A dog’s definition of a door: is something one is always on the wrong side of… 😉
Another sweet picture, thank you 😀

    • Oh boy is that for sure. No closed doors allowed in this house by either Jack Henry or Hubble! And yes, the best way to get on the right side of the door is to bang it open with your head-thanks Faith very much for stopping by 🙂

  4. Hi Meg! I am so glad I discovered your site. Your pictures are evocative and really tap in to the dog mind. As a proud pet parent of an amazing Boston Terrier(Maggie), we give your work 2 paws and 2 thumbs up. BTW, Mags thinks Jack Henry is very handsome and LOVED him in the top hat.

    • Well, thank you so much! Yes, Jack Henry is quite a hit with the two-legged and four-legged female types-he is a gentleman after all. Not like Mr. Rough and Tumble Hubble, whose manners, Jack Henry would tell you are most atrocious. We appreciate you taking the time to visit us-and paws up to Miss Maggie-I have no doubt she is a star in her house too! 🙂

      • She certainly is! We take quite a few photos of her but they don’t match your artistic eye. Unfortunately she is not the type to sit still for long and being a diva, directing her just won’t do, LOL!

      • I have one like that-Anna is a black German Shepherd who is scared of her own shadow-so not very shepherd-y. But we are working on it-Thanks so much!

  5. Har har the felonious felines that I live with are the same and the rabbits are the WORST. They dart through a forbidden door at super-sonic speeds, tipping me over in their gusto! This is why they are known as bully bunnies.

Fabulous post, too many grins. And that is one of my favourite quotes about dogs.

I love Hubble’s expression in this photo. Classic. Too wonderful. Jubilant cheers,
