Steve
Happy New Year to all our friends from Little Dogs Laughed-
This year, I thought I would try to mix things up a bit by doing more portrait work of other dogs that I meet (in spite of certain grumblings from Jack Henry and Hubble).
Over the holidays, I had the opportunity to take care of my neighbor’s two dogs. This is Steve, a wise old lab mix with a gentle nature and and an endearing optimism about life. (As in there are always treats somewhere, sometime).
One of the things I most enjoy about watching and photographing dogs is catching them in their contemplative moments. It truly is–at least for me–an invitation to visit their world, if only for a few moments.
TOday’s Dog Quote:
“Once you have had a wonderful dog, a life without one, is a life diminished.”
—Dean Koontz

For today: Steve
Steve is adorable. He looks like he is pretty laid back so he won’t kick up a fuss like Mr. Hubble. I love the picture, Meg!

Steve is definitely one of the most laid-back dogs I have ever met-much like his owners. A very different personality than Master Hubble to be sure 😉 Thanks Susan!

I’m sure Steve’s attitude would drive Master Hubble nuts. LOL.

‘To visit their world…’ – I think this is the true value of spending time with animals. Paying quiet attention can let us learn such a lot. Beautiful portrait of Steve!

I love this photo! You’ve really captured his beautiful expression. Great quote too, from one of my favourite writers – having known some truly wonderful dogs, I couldn’t contemplate life without one.

I know Annabelle-I have grown up with my dogs most of my life and for me, it would be an emptier one without them-I have found several quotes from Dean Koontz that are wonderful in expressing his feelings about dogs-thanks for visiting!

Thank you so much Daal! I have a very soft spot for black labs-one of the first dogs I had as a young adult was a rescue named Joe who was one of the greatest dogs in the world. They are an amazing breed, and Steve is a real treasure-Thanks so much for taking a look and give those beauties of yours a big hug and pat from us-

they send enough licks to wash your faces completely free of any possible food crumbs you didn’t even know you had – I believe anything mixed with lab-rador is a winner – a one-of-a-kind love-rador!
